The varsity girls basketball team easily defeated Tennyson in the WACC playoffs on Feb.17, with a final score of 73-35.

The Trojans started out with a strong first quarter, with a fast-paced game led by lead scorer Bailey Jones.

The girls ended out the first quarter with a score of 32-13.

In the third quarter, sophomore Giana Wright pulled through, scoring multiple points with great assistance from her teammates.

“The team was really strong, not just based on the scoreboard but also their intensity on the court,” said head coach Jim Lemmon.

In the final quarter, the team maintained their aggression and speed on the court. They ended with a score of 73-35.

“It was a great game, and everyone played really well,” said Wright. “This was our first playoff game, and now we’ll move on to our next game this Thursday.”

The girls will play at home against San Leandro on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
